In the past year, the Technology Centre for Business Informatics (TEWI) has changed here and there. For example, a new logo was introduced that illustrates TEWI’s interconnectedness with the canton of Valais. In addition to the new visual appearance, the web presence was also renewed. In keeping with the theme of the 15th TEWI Forum, social media, the TEWI is now present on various social platforms. In addition to these innovations, intensive research was of course carried out again. As always, the focus was on topics that are highly relevant to the Valais region with its special geographical location and economic structure, such as IT use in the tourism industry or the successful web presence of SMEs. In addition, current trends were addressed, such as the use of free music downloads or customer self-service technologies. In addition, a CTI application was drafted last year in cooperation with the Distance Learning University of Applied Sciences Valais and partners from the business world, within the framework of which a system for personalised newsletters is to be developed. I would like to invite you to read more about the activities of the TEWI in this activity report.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all partner institutions for their constructive cooperation with the TEWI. Special thanks are due to the Canton of Valais and the Municipality of Brig-Glis for their generous financial contributions, which benefit the TEWI. And finally, my thanks also go to Prof. Dr. Thomas Myrach, who always stands by the TEWI as President and actively supports our activities. I hope for continued good cooperation and many interesting projects.
Marcel Grüter, Managing Director TEWI
