Master theses at the University of Bern at the Institute of Information Systems
We supervise students of the major in business administration in their qualification theses. Interestingly, if you decide to write a thesis with us, you will be able to work at the forefront of research. We conduct research at the cutting edge. We would like to mention at this point that we expect you to work independently and still guarantee you sound support. The aim of a qualification thesis at master’s level is to be able to work out a concept independently.
In addition, it would be an advantage if you have successfully completed a seminar at a business administration institute, preferably at the Institute of Information Systems. If you are planning a qualitative master thesis such as a case study, attendance of the course Introduction to Qualitative Research is also recommended. We reserve the right to accept work only within the scope of our supervisory capacities. We supervise empirical work (gaining knowledge through own data collection), discursive work (discussion of already published facts) and creative work (conception or implementation of a problem solution). Cooperation with companies and other organisations, so-called practical work, is possible as long as it makes sense in terms of content, a common objective can be found and the conditions for achieving sufficient scientific quality are met.
